Requesting Profile Changes

Submit requests to update your contact information.

Church Directory Plus uses a request-based system for profile updates. This ensures data accuracy and allows church administrators to review changes before they're applied.

How Profile Update Requests Work

When you want to update profile information, the changes don't take effect immediately. Instead:

  1. You submit an update request with the proposed changes.
  2. A church administrator reviews your request.
  3. The admin can approve or decline the changes.
  4. You receive a notification about the decision.

Requesting Your Own Profile Update

To request changes to your own profile:

  1. Open your profile from the navigation drawer.
  2. Tap the pencil icon or "Request Update" button.
  3. Edit the fields you want to change.
  4. Tap "Submit Request" to send for review.
Note: If you have direct edit permissions (typically administrators), your changes may take effect immediately without requiring approval.

Requesting Updates for Others

With the appropriate permission (request_other_profile_update), you can also submit update requests for other members. This is useful for:

  • Updating a family member's information on their behalf
  • Correcting information you notice is outdated
  • Helping members who aren't comfortable with technology
Tip: Be specific in your update requests. Include only the fields that need to change, making it easier for administrators to review.
